    Is is possible to stay on a factual Level in Debates without People going to hyperboles all the time?

    Could a debate even be called fruitful when everybody stay on the carpet?

    I’ve never heard anything so ridiculous in all my life.
    This thread is without doubt the most outrageous attack on the quality of debate in this forum that’s ever been posted.

    Without a moderator, no

    We tried at one point to have proper debates with 2 clear sides and a mutually agreed upon moderator but it fell flat

    I don't think so. So many threads - most, perhaps, get sidetracked with "whataboutisms" and other such tactics.

    People do not debate to determine some sort of truth. They post to create the truth they want.
