I think not. China’s investment in the country is dependent on whether Myanmar has a stable, internationally accepted government. From what I can tell China views the military there (based on past relationships) as ungrateful and problematic.

I have read (not sure if it is all true) that George Bush's grandfather owned a bank that had extensive dealings in Germany before WWII, as was perfectly Ok. When the war started, such commerce was illegal but the bank kept up the dealings anyway.
So yeah, I guess we can expect Singapore and Hong Kong to hold their positions.
Just read today, 39 protesters killed on Sunday, and a Monday tally had begun. Jeeeezus.
Also, I saw that in ONE city, 39 Chinese owned businesses were destroyed by protesters.
Taiwan has advised their citizen businessmen in Myanmar to fly the Taiwan flag.
I think Myanmar people do not like the Chinese government. Hmmmm 🤔

of the British Empire, about which not many British writers seem very concerned.
