"As of May 1, 2021, CDC transitioned from monitoring all reported vaccine breakthrough cases to focus on identifying and investigating only hospitalized or fatal cases due to any cause. This shift will help maximize the quality of the data collected on cases of greatest clinical and public health importance."
Maximize the quality of the data? LOL! Ridiculous!
No, it is to hide the true number of breakthrough cases to fool you into thinking the vaccines are more effective than they are.

@Eladar Yes, an interesting question. I assume you think you are superman and will NEVER get covid, in spite of the fact now the delta variant is accounting for 93% of all covid cases in the US now.

How do you know? Has the delta variant been isolated?
@Eladar You two should get a room where you can build up even MORE ridiculous conspiracy theories.
You really HATE the idea of democrats actually accomplishing good legislation like the infrastructure bill your god king NEVER passed in 4 years but Biden did that in 6 MONTHS.
But none of that matters a whit because Biden is DEMOCRAT.
So ANYTHING positive reported will AUTOMATICALLY be fake news and thus can be safely ignored, put in the trash.
Vaccinated breakthrough cases are counted differently than the unvaccinated. You need to count all breakthrough cases to compare them to the unvaccinated. Those infections are all counted, not just hospitalizations and deaths.

@sh76said Geez, El. He said "The main point being the natural immunity response might vary among individuals." How did you get from there to "vaccines give immunity and getting sick and recovering does not"?
It's not all or nothing. It could be true BOTH that:
1. Having COVID and recovering gives you some level of natural immunity; AND
2. For some people, that immunity will not be ...[text shortened]... as being vaccinated
I mean, I've been in as many fights with no1 as the next guy, but do be fair.
