Compare it to football..win 1-0 or 6-0 you get 3 points..
Win a clan challenge its the same..no matter if its by one game or a white wash...

But to add to that, there is the sore point amongst some, or rather one individual, about points being deducted for losing a challenge.
This came about because not every clan plays the same number of challenges.
There was a scoring system (gross points) where losing a challenge didn’t cost a clan anything.
This rendered the clan feature to being a contest of which clan can set the most challenges.
Which is not a good measure of a clan’s performance.

In fact, you can view the 2019 results and set the sort to Gross Points - Most and see the result.
The clan at the top of the table had a won lost record 207W 206L (barely .500) while the next clan had a record 152W 70L and deservedly finished at the top of the table with the sort set to Net Points.
Now you can look through the table and find a clan with a better W/L ratio. I found one with a record 21W 8L, a better record.
But that clan didn’t win the clan title because they simply didn’t play enough challenges.
Clearly, the Net Points scoring strikes a balance between the examples I showed above.

You have to win more than you lose.
And you have to play enough challenges to compete.
The Net Points scoring method isn’t perfect. But it’s best quality is that it strikes a balance.

As to the notion of partial points for losing, nonsense !!
Roma has already covered that off.
I think of a poker table. There is one pot. One pot only.
There’s no prize for finishing second. Or losing.
Period !!
