I enjoyed making that, so I've done something similar, this time looking at the popularity of chess openings over time.

It's a good point. It was tricky deciding how to group them.

Interesting. But I question comparing the English, which is defined by one ply to the Sicilian which is defined by two plies, and the Ruy Lopez which is defined by five.
